Confidence is one of the hardest things for guys to grasp when discussing what universal characteristics define an Alpha male. You’ll always hear this: Dominance, a deep voice, non-reactive, some personal definition of leadership, and confidence. Although the two are linked, people tend to conflate confidence with Frame. These trait-aspects of masculinity are expressed through a man’s behavior. Manifestations of Alpha male behavior become the metric for conventional masculinity. Frame is the aggregate of these traits, including confidence.

Confident Behaviors

What behaviors manifest as a result of putting yourself as your Mental Point of Origin or being first in the inception chain? Being fifth or sixth in that priority order makes a man behave differently depending on self-perception. What behaviors will manifest as a result of that Mindset of making yourself the first thing that jumps into your head when making decisions? A sense of unconscious confidence is the byproduct of where you perceive yourself in the inception chain.

If your primary Mindset is being a people pleaser, an appeaser, or a servant, where do you sit in that chain? If your Mental Point of Origin is yourself, people think you're a narcissist, you're a prick, you're arrogant, etc. If we use that as a starting point, there are still behaviors that manifest as a result of you being a dick. If your Mindset is one of enlightened self-interest (I can't help others until I can help myself), what behaviors result from that?

Once you've changed your mind about yourself and set things in motion to change your belief set, you will naturally behave in ways and manifest behaviors that reflect that new self-concept. I’ll give you a quick example: If you go from being a fat ass to hitting the gym five days a week for six, maybe eight months, you lose the fat, you put on some muscle, and then, lo and behold, people start treating you differently. The mental state influenced the physical state. The product of this process is people thinking and behaving differently toward you, which in turn influences your mental state in a positive feedback loop. This affirms that positive change and reinforces that mental state.
